Biography
Crateuas (111–64 BC), also known as Cratevas (Latin), Krateuas, or Kratevas (Ancient Greek: Κρατεύας), was a Greek doctor, pharmacologist, and friend of Mithradates VI Eupator. He was distinguished from others of the same name by the epithet "Rootpicker" or "Rhizotomist" (ὁ ῥιζοτόμος, ho rhizotómos) after the Greek name of his principle work, the Herbology.
